Bird Photography at Shamirpet Hyderabad

It was the 3rd outing for our RTP Group and after 2 successful outings, this one turned out to be a flop-show. It wasn't that bad for me personally, but considering that the group is new, a few new members also joined this time and some upgraded their lenses, I was a little disappointed with minimal bird activity.

Apparently, the group is formed for this particular reason only.
"To check out all possible opportunities of birding in and around Hyderabad, ensure we have covered all of them and track as many bird species as possible"
Hence, it is obvious that a few outings will be "not so great" as the others.

A few words about the location:

We initially spent some time around the Shamirpet Lake. It was a heart-breaker to see the fishing nets on the shore and fisherman throwing nets in the water. If all the fish is caught what will remain for the birds to eat, precisely the reason for the decline in bird activity around the lake.

Next up was Shamirpet Deer Park, had some high hopes thinking it will be densely covered with big trees and will give some good opportunity to click the land birds. that was even a bigger disappointment. Shamirpet Deer Park is a very small park with hardly 5-6 big trees and almost zero bird activity. Although you can get good shots of spotted deer (Cheetal) if you wish so.

Amongst this ignominious failure, were some bird shots that saved the day. Sharing below some of those pictures.

The Lesser Pied Kingfisher below gave us some good poses to click, this was the only face-saving for the day.
